During November and December 2008 Blaby Disrict Council will be asking residents and local businesses what they think would be the best locations for the 8,650 houses and a large employment site which are required within the District up to 2026. The Council will also be asking for the views of the community and development experts to establish the best location for a large ‘Sustainable Urban Extension’ (of some 4,000 houses). It also has to identify which villages within the District are most able to accommodate more houses and other development. More »
A number of initial options have been put forward for large scale housing growth including 3 sites around the Leicester Forest East / Lubbesthorpe, Enderby, Kirby Muxloe and Glenfield areas. Three options have also been put forward for Strategic Employment sites around Glenfield and Enderby.

Recent Planning Applications
08/0788/1/PX Aldi Stores Ltd, Meridian Way. Single storey extension including new glazed entrance canopy to side of retail store.
08/0780/1/PY Mr P Basra, 1 Watergate Lane. Change of use to hot food takeaway (Use Class A5) and erection of external flue.
Copies of local Planning Applications are available for inspection at the Braunstone Civic Centre. These applications will be considered at the next meeting of the Town Councils' Plans & Environment Committee due to be held on 16th October 2008.
The Plans may also be inspected at the offices of Blaby District Council, to whom representations should be made.

Police Alert...... Mossdale Meadows/Meridian Leisure - 3/10/08
Reports received of a high level of Police activity in the area this morning following the attempted overnight theft of the ATM machine outside the Vue Cinema. The gang gained access to Meridian Leisure by cutting through the entrance gate posts at the Brokenhurst entrance to Mossdale Meadows. They then cut through the metal fence near the Councils garage. Did you see or hear anything last night?
