An ancient village with a brook, pack horse bridge and traditional pub signs. Originally a Roman settlement. The medieval bridge crosses a tributary of the River Welland.
The medieval bridge together with the stone cottages, large elegant houses and leafy walks combine to make the village one of the most picturesque in the Welland Valley.

Pocket-sized timetables containing money saving vouchers for a rural bus service will shortly be arriving on your doorstep.
Produced by Leicestershire County Council, each booklet contains four vouchers, valid between 26th March - 22nd April which will enable passengers to make a single journey on any of the twelve Rural Rider routes for just 50p.
The launch of the promotion coincides with the first birthday of the Rural Rider. The service was introduced on the 27th March 2006 and since being introduced has provided a crucial link for villages and features a state-of-the-art, easily-accessible bus. More »

Vouchers will be available from tourist information centres, service shops, libraries and selected outlets along the line of route (Leicester, Market Harborough, Melton Mowbray and Oakham) from 26th March,or by calling 0116 2658777 or e-mailing passengertransport@leics.gov.uk
