Background to the scheme
The Active Lifestyle Exercise Referral Scheme, a partnership between Charnwood Borough Council and Charnwood & NW Leicestershire PCT, has been running successfully in Charnwood for the last 9 years. The scheme aims to improve the health of the community by providing opportunities for people to participate in physical activity in venues close to them under the guidance of trained instructors.
