View of the Barrow bridge
Barrow is a residential and industrial village between Leicester and Loughborough. It stands on the east bank of the River Soar and the chief industries have been hosiery and knitwear. Boating is also important and the riverbank provides mooring for many houseboats. The emblem of the village is a PLESIOSAURUS, after a fossil found here in 1851.

Barrow Heritage Exhibition: STOP PRESS!
The Streets Group of Barrow Heritage Group held a very popular exhibition on Sunday June 22nd about the history of Streets in Barrow.
In order to allow more people to visit it including wheelchair users, it has been transfered to Barrow LIBRARY. The Library will be open on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday
Do come and look around. Entry is free. You will find all sorts of fascinating information including why some of the streets have the names they do. Who was John Earl? and Beveridge?
The exhibition will be removed on Monday.

Village Bike Ride
YES, WE HELD IT!!!
The Parish Council Village Bike Ride is on Wed June 18th on Beacon Field, Humphrey Perkins School.BUSCA will be running a BBQ.
1 mile, 4 mile, 7 mile and 10 mile rides.
1st race is at 6.30.
Children need parental permission. Everyone needs a roadworthy bike!!

OPEN GARDENS.
There will be 24 gardens open in Barrow upon Soar this year at the Open Gardens weekend on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 June. The times on both days are 12.30pm – 5pm and all proceeds will go to ‘Rainbows’. Programmes are on sale at The Paper Shop, Sylvia's Flower Shop and Hubbards Butchers or on the day from any of the gardens at a cost of £3.
