Officers from Leicestershire Constabulary's South Area are supporting a Domestic Violence and Alcohol Awareness Week held (beginning w/c August 18, 2008) in conjunction with Leicestershire County Council, Oadby and Wigston Borough Council and charity Women's' Aid in a bid to raise awareness of the seasonal draw of alcohol and its affects on relationships at home.

M·E·L Research have been commissioned by Leicestershire County Council to carry out a survey amongst local residents to gain awareness levels form residents about Food waste.

As part of this process, they will be carrying out door to door survey interviews across the 7 districts of the county from 16th August to 5th September when we are interviewing 1,100 residents who live in the area. There will be a group of interviewers carrying out these interviews in the county

A 14-year-old boy from Leicester who has been missing since Saturday July 12 has been found safe and well.

Martin Mangan was found in Lincoln last night by police. He has been returned to his home in Leicester.

Police and Social Services would like to thank the media and members of the public for their assistance in the search for Martin.
