St Peter's Church, Swepstone: Crib Service - 21 December at 10.30 am
“Crib Service”, to be held on Sunday 21 December 2008 at 10.30 am in St Peter’s Church
At the beginning of December, schoolchildren in both the villages will be offered the opportunity to shelter rag dolls Mary, Joseph and their cuddly donkey each night, on their way to Bethlehem, symbolically represented by the Church. A notebook will be passed from hand to hand alongside them, so that their hosts can write down what activities Mary and Joseph enjoyed. Finally, on the morning of 21 December, they will be brought into church to be placed in the stable. A short child orientated service will tell the Nativity story simply with words and music. A perfect introduction to the celebration of Christmas. More »
