Available Church and Burial Records

This lists the records of christenings[C], marriages[M] and burials[B] which took place at parish church and which can be found at the Record Office for Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland. The dates for which banns are held are shown in brackets after the marriage dates. Bishop's Transcripts [BTs] are contemporary copies which are also shown. It also provides information about burials and cremations outside the parish church.

There is a civic cemetery run by the Parish Council and there are records from about 1920 which can be accessed by application to the Parish Clerk. People from Barlestone are like to use the cremetorium at Nuneaton or Leicester. Heart of England Crematorium is on Eastboro Way, Auleborough, Nuneaton, CV11 6WZ. It is understood that records are held there. People might also use Leicester Crematorium which is at Gilroes Cemetery, Groby Road, Leicester LE3 9QG.
