BGL now sponsors 14 children through education at Sambel Kunda School in the Central River region of The Gambia.

This is mainly due to the generous nature of the people of Barrow, but not to forget that the younger members of BGL finance two children themselves (including Sono Barry above) through fundraising etc. and they also help BGL to supply a schoolteacher to the school by financing his wages.

This was necessary due to the success of both the BGL project and Stella's and their being so many more children now gaining an education at the school.

We are still working to build a library at the school which is a target the young members of BGL have set themselves.
