The Gambia is located on the west coast of Africa. It is completely surrounded by Senegal to the north, east, and south and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. It is a narrow strip of low lying land that is covered in thick mangrove swamps below the lower half of the Gambia River.

The Gambia has no significant mineral or natural resource deposits and has a limited agricultural base. About 75% of the population depends on crops and livestock for its livelihood. Unfortunately advice on farming etc. is very limited, and this is where Educating the young people of The Gambia can make a difference.

By helping to Educate young people in The Gambia we can teach Self-Sufficiency, rather than just give money as aid which will just result in more money needed in the near future. BGL is about Education, read on.....

Here are some of the helpers who raised money by carrying out the running of a Bar-be-que at Loughborough Police Club during a charity night. The funds from this went towards the replacement of the roof.
