Throughout 2009, Coalville based company Bardon Aggregates ran the competition appealing for people of all ages to submit photographs which represented what Leicestershire mean to them. With almost 1,000 entries received over the course of the year, just twelve were selected across three age ranges to appear in a special charity calendar. More » Simon Taylor, director of Bardon Aggregates said:“We were overwhelmed with the popularity of the contest last year and since producing the calendar, we’ve had so many requests for it to be repeated this year. Although the format of the competition was very successful, we’ve decided to give entrants an additional challenge by adopting the theme of people and portraits. “We’re therefore appealing for photographs featuring Leicestershire people which portray life in our county. “The recent weather will no doubt have led to some fantastic photographs of people enjoying the snow, and as the seasons progress, we’re hoping to get some great snapshots of what Leicestershire has to offer”. All entries must be accompanied by a permissions form signed by the subject, which is available from www.leicestershirethroughalens.co.uk, and must be accompanied by a caption describing the image. A full list of rules can also be found on the website. Entries for the Winter round are now being accepted until 28th February. The finished calendar will be sold in aid of a variety of Leicestershire causes. « Less Posted: Tue, 09 Feb 2010 09:04 Vacancy Rural Economy Officer Chief Executives Department, County Hall, Glenfield To assist in identifying, developing, promoting and implementing arrangements to enhance the coordination and effectiveness of the rural economy in Leicestershire through the delivery of the Leicestershire Rural Partnership’s (LRP) INSPIRE Leicestershire programme.
