Could you use your Computer Skills to help your Community
Did you know that 11.5 million people are not able to use the Internet?
If you are a Computer enthusiast living in the Charnwood area with a few hours to spare each week, you could volunteer to become an E-Champion. :)
You would receive free training and equipment to enable you to help people in your local community to gain the confidence to use a computer and access the Internet.

Calling Leicestershire's Snappers
Leicestershire’s amateur photographers are once again being invited to enter a competition celebrating life in the county for the chance to see their work published
Following the success of Leicestershire Through a Lens in 2009, the company behind the competition, Bardon Aggregates, has announced that the contest will run again in 2010, this time with a difference.
Throughout 2009, Coalville based company Bardon Aggregates ran the competition appealing for people of all ages to submit photographs which represented what Leicestershire mean to them. With almost 1,000 entries received over the course of the year, just twelve were selected across three age ranges to appear in a special charity calendar. More »
Simon Taylor, director of Bardon Aggregates said:“We were overwhelmed with the popularity of the contest last year and since producing the calendar, we’ve had so many requests for it to be repeated this year. Although the format of the competition was very successful, we’ve decided to give entrants an additional challenge by adopting the theme of people and portraits.
“We’re therefore appealing for photographs featuring Leicestershire people which portray life in our county.
“The recent weather will no doubt have led to some fantastic photographs of people enjoying the snow, and as the seasons progress, we’re hoping to get some great snapshots of what Leicestershire has to offer”.
All entries must be accompanied by a permissions form signed by the subject, which is available from www.leicestershirethroughalens.co.uk, and must be accompanied by a caption describing the image. A full list of rules can also be found on the website.
Entries for the Winter round are now being accepted until 28th February. The finished calendar will be sold in aid of a variety of Leicestershire causes. « Less

Essential Requirements:
- Educated to degree (or equivalent) level in a relevant subject or significant level of work experience relevant to the essential criteria
- Experience of developing, implementing, managing and evaluating projects
- Experience of collaborative working with others to ensure the achievement of key objectives and the best use of resources, including through project steering groups
- Experience of researching and reviewing specific issues and analysing information and data to inform delivery
