A SHORT HISTORY OF FAMOUS HUNTS

THE FERNIE began in 1847........

`In 1878, Sir Bach Cunard had the Billesdon country, the farmers resisted his claim to the country of the Quorn Hunt and threatened to wire the country and kill the hounds.

From left to right, names were Sir Back Cunard, Mr. Tailby, Mr. Copeland, Mr. Graham, Tom Firr.

Cottages at Billesdon built as Kennels for Fernie Hunt - 1838

These cottages were built by Lord ? in 1838 as kennels for the Fernie Hunt. They cost £4000.

They closed in 1878 when they were transferred to Medbourne.
