BIRSTALL AND DISTRICT LOCAL HISTORY SOCIETY

Welcome to the Birstall Local History Society web page. The Society now in it's 25th year meets at 7.30pm on the second Thursday of each month at The Village Hall, Birstall Road. At most meetings we welcome speakers who talk on a wide range of local history related subjects. Below you will find a copy of our programme, so why not come along and join us. Membership is open to all and visitors are very welcome. LATEST NEWS
The Annual General Meeting of the society was held on January13th 2011. Chairman John Kilby decided to take a rest from the responsibilities and Brenda Watts was elected as our new chairman. John a founder member of the society has been a popular and successful chairman for 11 years during which time the society has continued to prosper. It was unanimously agreed that John should become the society's President.
