Protect your Home when you are away

• Remember to cancel your milk and newspapers.
• Cut your lawns before you go away. If you are away for more than two weeks arrange for a friend or neighbour to keep them trimmed.
• Let your neighbours (and your Neighbourhood Watch Representative if they live nearby) know that you are going away.
• Ensure you have locked all windows and doors.
• Ensure you have locked your gates and any ladders and tools are locked away.
• Use automatic timers to switch on lights in the evening.
• Ensure you turn on your burglar alarm.
• Ensure any external movement sensors attached to security lights are working.
• Do not leave keys on display.
• Arrange for someone to take you wheelie bins in for you.
• Consider leaving a car parked in the driveway.
