The credit crunch and impending recession will undoubtedly touch most people’s lives in one way or another and is likely to lead to an increased number of people seeking advice services across a range of issues as a recession is not just about money. People will be incurring debts and need money advice; people may lose their jobs and seek advice on their employment rights; they may face the loss of their home due to failure to meet their payment obligations; they may need to enter the benefits system with no previous knowledge of welfare benefits and may be unsure of their entitlements; the wider implications of the recession can lead to family breakdowns, and people needing advice in this area too. We will be offering advice in all these areas of law to people across Leicestershire. The Community Law Service has experienced solicitors and case workers. Leicester Money Advice, the parent company for the Community Law Service (Leicester & County) was established in 1980 and has delivered debt advice in the city and county for almost 30 years.
