Hi everyone. I`m new to the forum so please be patient with me until I get to know how everything works Smiley face

I live in Kings Lynn, Norfolk. I am researching my family tree and would like some help tracing one of my ancestors.

William Banbury ( born 1849 ) married Rebecca Ratcliff ( born 1855 ) in the December quarter of 1872. According to the 1901 Census they were living in the Southgate Street area of Leicester. Thats the last information I have on them Smiley face

I have researched FreeBMD, contacted Welford Road Cemetery and Lutterworth Church to no avail. At present there is no trace of them.

During my research I have found that William`s parents appear to be Richard and Clara Banbury. ( I have found dates of birth, marrriage details etc for these ). Richard Banbury was christened on 13th September 1812 in Beeby. His parents appear to be John and Harriet Banbury (nee King ) who were married 3rd January 1802 in Beeby.

If anyone could help with any information in connection with any of the above mentioned people that would be great Smiley face Smiley face Smiley face

Thanks very much in anticipation for all your help Steve.

Hi Steve:

A little research on the LDS site turned up the following: John Banbury, christened 14 Feb., 1774 in Peatling Magna, Leicester, married Harriet King, christened 9 Mar., 1776 in Beeby, Leicester. John is the son of William Banbury, (no further info) who was married (on 2 Jan., 1772 at Kibworth Beauchamp, Leicester) to Alice White, christened 26 Dec., 1750, Wigston, Leicester. Alice is the daughter of Henry White...there's lots of info on him on the LDS site too. Harriet King is the daughter of Welbey King (no further info) who married Hannah LNU.
Hope this helps. Happy hunting!

I am planning a trip to Lutterworth next year as part of my research and to visit The Framework Knitters Museum plus other destinations. I am desperately trying to trace Wiliam Banbury ( born 1849 ) and his wife Rebecca ( born 1855 ).

I know William and Rebecca`s children and grandchildren are all buried at St Mary`s Lutterworth, hence my visit . I would dearly love to find William and Rebecca before my trip. Would you have any suggestions for my next line of enquiry?

Once again many thanks. All the best Steve.

If there is a street name on the 1901 census, possible to check electoral registers.

May be worth checking on one of the paid sites for a death registration entry.

Thanks for those suggestions Clare.

Do you know where I can access the electoral registers for Leicester?

Because I don`t know the date of death would this limit my success on the "Paid Sites"?

I`ll keep researching in the meantime and I really appreciate your interest.
