Parish Council Meeting - Tuesday 3rd August 2010

The Parish Council meeting took place on the evening of Tuesday 3rd August. The following is a summary of the meeting. The vacancy for the post of Parish Clerk has attracted four applicants, all of whom will be interviewed during August by a panel of three or four Parish Councillors. A proposed Seat next to the bus stop near Springfield Close has now been granted a licenceThe information will be passed to the community fund, which is kindly funding the seat purchase and installation. Nicky Morgan MP has been invited to attend a future meeting; this will be an opportunity to ask questions regarding changes in planning, and any other changes in local and central government issues. A log of the Noise Monitoring equipment has been provided by Bev Green of Charnwood Borough Council. A summary of the noise levels has not yet been done. Councillor Bokor agreed to take forward the issues of unswept and unpassable footpaths in the parish. Details of previous complaints will be passed to Councillor Bokor by the clerk. The financial assistance currently awarded to local organisations was reviewed by the Parish Council, with the aim of ensuring that the criteria for assistance is uniform. JOB VACANCY

A vacancy has arisen for the post of Parish Clerk / Proper Financial Officer for Burton on the Wolds, Cotes and Prestwold Parish Council.

The position is contracted for 11 hrs per week, working from home, this includes some evening meetings (approx 15 – 20 per year).

Experience in financial management, minute taking, and general administration is preferred. IT skills are essential.

Salary £16054 - £19126 (pro rata) dependent on experience. Other allowances are also paid. More »

Parish Council Meeting - Tuesday 6th July 2010

The Parish Council meeting took place on Tuesday 6th July. The following is a summary of the meeting. Cllr Robert Shields was elected as Chairman of the Parish Council for the coming year. Cllr Diana Edmonds was elected as the Vice Chairman of the Parish Council. A vacancy has arisen for the paid part time post of Parish Clerk / Proper Financial Officer. It was agreed to place the advertisement on the surrounding village noticeboards and on the Parish Council website with Cllr Shields as the contact. PC Lynne Gilbertson reported on recent speed checks in Cotes and spates of anti-social behaviour in Burton on the Wolds. Noise monitors and general nuisance complaints are requested by the Parish Council to be reviewed by Charnwood Borough Council. This has been previously requested following the meeting with Helen Robinson and Dave Hankin in April this year.
