Erected by his sorrowful friends of Burton Overy In loving memory of CAROLINE BETHUNE wife of the above who died at St Leonard's on Sea Dec 16 1906 aged 83 R.I.P.

In affectionate remembrance of JOHN MOORE gentleman, late of this parish, whose remains are interred in a vault near this place. He died June vi mdcccxliv in the lxxxiv of his age

Right side
In memory of ANN wife of JOHN MOORE, gentleman, eldest daughter of the late Rev. HENRY WOODCOCK, vicar of Barkby in this County and Rector of Canthorpe cum Frieston, Lincolnshire. She died December xxviii mvxxxli In the lxiii year of her age.
Erected as a tribute of affection by her only surviving sister -------

J5 - John Nichols (white marble on black stone)

Plaque to John Nichols

In a vault near this place are deposited the remains of JOHN NICHOLS of Spa Garden, Leicester, Gent who was called from this state of probation on the 6th of October 1815 in the 75th year of his age
Also of ANN, wife of the above JOHN NICHOLS, (and daughter of WILLIAM WOODWARD of this place, gent and ANN his wife both deceased.)
She departed this life on the 20th of June, 1805; aged 57 years.
Also of ANN, eldest daughter of the above JOHN and ANN NICHOLS. She died the 13th of August 1806 aged 34 years
Likewise GEORGE, eldest son of the above JOHN and ANN NICHOLS, who died the 18th of June 1811: aged 33 years.

J6 - Christian Ann Fawcett (white marble)

Plaque to Christian Ann Fawcett

Sacred to the memory of CHRISTIAN ANN the wife of Major WILLIAM FAWCETT who died 22 March 1823 age 31 years seven days after the birth of her only child WILLIAM HENRY who died 19th March 1823 age 4 days.She was endear’d to all her family & friends by the most amiable & affectionate disposition and was equally distinguished for the cultivation of her mind. The suavity & elegance of her manners and the piety & beneficence of her heart her afflicted husband deeply impress’d with a just sense of her many virtue, & inestimable worth in all the public, private, religious, and domestic paths of life; has inscrib’d this mournful tablet to her memory with feelings of inviolable affection & esteem and unutterable regrets for her untimely loss.
He thought the morning of his hopes begun.
And ken’d the flatt’ring prospect rich and fair;
He felt her presence as the rising sun
Dawning on a day devoid of care:
Alas! ‘twas but a dream, delusion’s glare,
Which quickly faded from his ravish’d sight;
The sky born vision heeded not his prayer.
But meteor like, beaming with celestial light,
A lucid moment shown, then setting, all was night!

J7 - William Southworth Lee (white marble)

This tablet was erected by his affectionate family to the memory of The Revd WILLIAM SOUTHWORTH LEE, formerly rector of this parish, and one of his Majesty’s Justices of the Peace for this county: who died December 18th 1828; aged 68.
Sincerely respected and beloved by all who knew him.

J8 - Katharine Sarah Small (white marble)

Sacred to the memory of KATHARINE SARAH the beloved and amiable wife of the Rev’d NATHANIEL POMFRET SMALL, M.A. of Market Bosworth, in this county; and daughter of The Rev’d WILLIAM SOUTHWORTH LEE: died October 30th ; 1831 aged 22.
Short her sojourn; yet while this vale she trod,
She walk’d in meek obedience to her God.
Her modest worth, her condescending mien,
Her resignation, brighter made each scene;
Of virtue lost,- like this, to soothe the pain,
Faith whispers peace: to her, ‘to die was gain.’

At the bottom of this stone are the remains of HENRY DOLBY son of CHAPMAN DOLBY Rr. By ELIZABETH his wife who departed Feb 23 1726 In the 18th year of his age

J10 - Frances Lee Southworth (white marble)

plaque to Frances Lee Southworth

Sacred to the memory of FRANCES LEE wife of the Reverend WILLIAM SOUTHWORTH M.A. Rector of this parish. She was one of the daughters of the ??? RICHARD DYORT of Freeford in the county of Stafford, Esqr. Died August 26th 1792 in the thirty fourth year of her age.
Though cut off at an early period
From the endearment of life
She resigned her soul without repining
Into the hands of Him who gave it.

J11 - Robert Coleman (slate)

This plain testimony of Felial Respect was created by BENJAMIN FREEMAN COLEMAN to the memory of ROBERT COLEMAN of the City of Bristol Esq. second son of HENRY COLEMAN formerly of this parish Esq. who died on the 23 June 1794 in the 62nd year of his age: and was interred on the 1st of July, in the Family Vault near this place.

J12 - Isabella Freeman (white marble on slate)

Sacred to the memory of ISABELLA FREEMAN youngest daughter of HENRY COLEMAN of Clipston in the county of Northampton Esqr. And ANN his wife who departed this life March 19th 1823 in the 21st year of her age
She lived beloved and died sincerely lamented by her relations and friends.
Her remains were interr’d at the same time and in the same vault with those of her sister CHRISTIAN ANN FAWCETT and her infant son.

J 13 - Hester Eliza Coleman (white on dark marble)

Sacred to the memory of HESTER ELIZA COLEMAN the eldest daughter of HENRY FREEMAN COLEMAN Esqre. And ELIZABETH, his wife: She sweetly fell asleep in Jesus’ Novr 17th 1842, aged 15 years.
Also of FANNY ELIZABETH, their fourth daughter who died March 10th 1843, aged 7 months.
“Not lost but gone before.”

J14 - Henry Freeman Coleman (brass)

Sacred to the memory of HENRY FREEMAN COLEMAN of Evington Hall in this County. Born November 17th 1790 Died June 11th 1870. Also ELIZABETH his wife Born September 23rd 1798 Died January 23rd 1880. Whose remains lie in Evington Church Yard.
“Redeemed – with the precious blood of Christ” 1 Peter 1-18-19.
This brass is placed by their children

J15 - Henry Coleman (white on brown marble)

plaque to Henry Coleman

Sacred to the memory of HENRY COLEMAN, Esqr. Many years an inhabitant of this parish and for the last twenty years of his life resident in Market Harborough. He was in the Commission of the Peace for the County of Leicester, and died the 25th day of January 1779, aged 74 years. And ANN his wife, daughter of ROBERT FREEMAN gentleman, and MARY, his wife. She died the 30th day of October 1761 aged 58 years:
Of THOMAS COLEMAN their eldest son, late of Market Harborough, gentleman, who died the 15th of January 1772 aged 43 years:
And PHOEBE his wife, daughter of EBENEZER BRATHWAITE of the City of London, gentleman. She died the 27th day of November 1769 in the 34th year of her age in childbed of a daughter PHOEBE who surviving her mother but one day was (reposing in her bosom) with her;
Also of THOMAS & MARY ANN their son & daughter the former of whom died the 28th day of August 1704, aged 8 years. And the latter the 18th day of January 1769, aged 13 years.
All of whose remains are deposited in a vault near this place.

J16 - John Sherard Coleman (cream and white marble)

plaque to John Sherard Coleman

Sacred to the memory of JOHN SHERARD COLEMAN, youngest son of HENRY and HESTER COLEMAN. He was a man of the most amiable disposition, the strictest integrity of principle.And of the most sincere and Christian piety:He died the 16th July 1828; in the 35th year of his age:
Beloved and deeply lamented.
This tablet is erected by his widow, whose consolation for the loss of him is in the humble hope of his having attained the reward promised to the righteous through Jesus Christ.

J17 - William Knox (white on black marble)

Sacred to the memory of WILLIAM KNOX Esqr. Eldest son of The Revd JAMES KNOX minister of Scone, Scotland. He died at Leamington Warwickshire 5th March 1817, aged 57 years.
In the relations of a husband a brother and a friend he was alike Faithful, Affectionate and Honorable, whilst he possessed in the highest degree and the dispositions which secure esteem. He was uniformly influenced by those principles which command respect.
He married CHRISTIAN eldest daughter of HENRY COLEMAN Esqr. By whom this small tribute of sincere respect is affectionately paid.

J18 - Henry Coleman (grey stone)

In memory of HENRY COLEMAN of the Borough of Leicester, youngest son of the late HENRY COLEMAN Esqr. of Market Harborough. He was in the Commission of the Peace and of His Majesty’s Deputy Lieutenants for the County died the 16th of March 1794 aged 35 years.
Also of CHRISTIAN the relict of the above HENRY COLEMAN daughter and Heiress of HENRY and CHRISTIAN SHARPE of Wing in the County of Rutland. She died the 10th of December 1791 aged 60 years.And of ANN FREEMAN COLEMAN youngest daughter of HENRY and CHRISTIAN COLEMAN. She died the 15th April 1798 aged 21 years.

Sacred to the memory of HENRY COLEMAN Esqr. of Clipston House in the County of Northampton who died August 1st 1826, aged 58 years
Also to his wife ANNE COLEMAN who died March 14th 1843, aged 74 years.

In the family vault near this place are deposited the remains of HENRY COLEMAN Esq. of Market Harborough, eldest son of the late THOMAS COLEMAN of the same place, gent.
He was the Commission of the Peace for the County of Leicester. Married HESTER eldest daughter of the late JOHN BULL of the City of Bristol, Esq., by whom he had issue, three sons. HENRY FREEMAN, THOMAS and JOHN SHEPARD and died the 9th day of May 1813, aged 59 years

On the case shaped plaque:
Sacred to the memory of HESTER relict of HENRY COLEMAN Esq. who died April 28th 1822 aged 64.
Her remains are deposited in the family vault near this place.
On the plinth:
This plain testimony of sincere affection and esteem is erected by her eldest son, HENRY FREEMAN COLEMAN.

Sacred to the memory of JOHN WOODRUFFE. Son of DANIEL & SARAH WOODRUFF who departed this life XX October MDCCCXX: in the LXXXIV year of his age.
Also MARY, wife of JOHN WOODRUFFE., and daughter of JOHN & MARY WOODRUFFE, of Costock, in the county of Nottingham:
She died XXV August MDCCCXXV; in the LXXXVI year of her age
And of ESTHER, third daughter of JOHN & MARY WOODRUFFE: she died XXI July MDCCLXXX; aged IV years.
Also MARY GREEN, wife of RICHARD GREEN, of Earl Shilton; and eldest daughter of DANIEL & SARAH WOODRUFFE: who died XXXI December, MDCCCII; aged LXXVII
