The Coleorton Heritage Group is organising an escorted walk around the Coleorton Heritage Trail on 15 July 2012. The Trail Walk will form part of the Festival of British Archaeology. The partly restored bakehouse will be open on that day. Please sign up on our website so we can organise small groups with an escort who will explain the history of the various locations.

8 community projects have been submitted for the Valley Community Forum area. Each of these projects have requested a share of the £12,500 allocated to the Community Forum.

You can now view and comment on each proposal, offering suggestions for improvement. The information collated at this stage will help inform discussions at the Community Forum Budget Decision Night.

If you want to take part in the decision making on the night, you can now also book your place. The Decision Night will take place on 30th May 2012, from 6-9pm.

"Could you make space for a child?"

According to the Fostering Network a child comes into care every 22 minutes across the UK.

Children need foster carers following a family crisis, if their parents become ill or if their family home is unsafe. This could involving caring for them for anything from a few days right though to the rest of their childhood.

Fostering a child is one of the most challenging but also rewarding things you can do and anyone can make a success of fostering. It doesn't matter whether you are married, cohabiting, single, gay or straight and we are looking for foster carers from all racial, religious and cultural backgrounds. More »
