Parish Council Meeting - Tuesday 2nd February 2010

The Parish Council meeting took place on Tuesday 2nd February. The following is a summary of the meeting.

A new dog waste bin has been ordered for the Plantation. Please use the bin and do not leave waste in the undergrowth. This is very important as volunteers do not want to find “presents” when working hard to improve this local well used amenity. Bag it and bin it or take it home.

The bin at the end of the Huntingdon Close jitty in the centre of Burton will be replaced for a larger size. Hopefully this will be better for the large demand. This bin can be used for general waste and bagged dog waste. More »

Lorries from works on the A46 or used by contractors working on the construction of the bund do not have permission to go through the village of Burton on the Wolds. It is important that registration numbers of offending vehicles are taken and reported to either Helen Robinson (Charnwood planning enforcement officer) on 634743 or to the Parish Clerk on 212639 or to any Parish Councillor. This is very hard to enforce if registration numbers are not taken.

Website. http://burtoncotesprestwold.leicestershireparishcouncils.org/ is the Parish Councils web address. Details of meetings, planning applications, contact details, neighbourhood watch, local amenities can be found here. Please let the clerk know if there is anything you would like added to the website.

Minutes, Agenda and Press Releases are on all of the village noticeboards and on the Parish Council website. The Press Release is also printed in The Link and the Loughborough Echo.

Next Council Meeting will be in Burton on the Wolds Village Hall on Tuesday 2nd March 2010 at 7.30pm. All residents are most welcome to attend.

Litter Pick - 24th January 2010

12 Volunteers met at the Village Hall on Sunday 24th January to take part in a litter pick.

In just over an hour, 20 bags of litter were collected from all the roads radiating from the mini roundabout except for Loughborough Road.

Please help to maintain the pristine condition of our village by using the litterbins and clearing litter from outside of your house.

We should be grateful to the few residents who turned out to help.
