Desford Women's Institute Meeting - September

This month's meeting will have a presentation on 'Antiques' by Charles Hanson. The meeting will start at 7.30pm in St Martin's Church Centre on Wednesday 10 September 2008.

Leicester Historic Churches Preservation Trust
Sponsored Cycle Ride & Walk

The Leicester Historic Churches Preservations Trust is holding a sponsored Cycle Ride and Walk on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 September 2008. St Martin's Church opens 9.30am – 6pm on Saturday and 12 noon – 5pm on Sunday.

There is a list in Church for volunteers to be there to welcome our visitors and offer refreshments.

St Martin's Church Harvest Supper

St Martin's Church is holding it's Harvest Supper on Sunday 28 September 2008 starting at 6.30pm. The Harvest Supper will take place in St Martin's Church Centre. Cost are £7 for adults and £3 for under 14s. Please bring your own drinks, and come in fancy dress (Edwardian).

Village Quiz

A 'Quiz' is being held in the Village Hall on Friday 10 October 2008 starting at 7:30pm. The Quiz is being held to raise money for the refurbishment of the Kirkby Road Recreation Ground and is for teams of 8 or less. Tickets cost £6.50 and are available from Pat Crane (Contact via Email or 01455 823537). Coffee and tea is available but BYO drinks.

Save the Children Coffee Morning

You and your friends are invited to a 'Coffee Morning & Sale' at 14 Cottage Lane, Desford, on Saturday 11 October 2008 from 10am - 12.30pm. There will be:

• Save the Children Cards and Gifts
• Bring and Buy
• Cakes
• Bric-a-Brac
• Good as New Fashions
• Raffle
• Plants
• Bottle Stall

Admission is 50p in aid of Save the Children.

Back by popular demand, 'Hoover the Dog' will be performing on Sunday 19 October 2008 at the Village Hall. The performance starts at 7:30pm. Arts & Crafts Weekend

There is an Arts & Crafts Weekend at the Village Hall 22 & 23 November 2008. Opening times are 10am - 4pm Admission is Free. There will be an exhibition by Desford & Peckleton Art Club and variety of craft stalls. There will be light refreshments available, including lunches.
