Diseworth Open Flower Show 2008

The Diseworth Open Flower Show was held on Saturday 13th September, at the Village Hall. The sun managed to shine for most of the afternoon, drawing a good crowd to view the usual array of exhibits, from prize blooms and vegetables, to photographs and handicrafts. The Heritage Trust were in attendance, showing maps and photographs of the village, and giving updates on progress with the Restoration project. NWLDC Recycling team were also present, to advise on composting, recyling and a greener lifestyle!
The traction engine "Robin Hood" from Long Whatton was in full steam, pony rides were given around the field, and tombola and raffles were busy raising funds. Platefuls of mouthwatering cakes were served, rounding off a perfect afternoon.
