They provide practical, medical and financial support and push for better cancer care. Cancer affects us all. We can all help. We are Macmillan.”....Well that is what their website says and the folk in and around Drayton answered the call. Lesley Morley organised a coffee morning at her house in Drayton on Friday 25th September. Coffee and cakes were eagerly consumed and the outcome - £476 raised for Macmillan Cancer Support. Lesley says “I want to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who came along”. Lesley couldn’t have raised so much without the help of those who turned up – well done Lesley, and well done all you coffee drinkers. Produced by Leicestershire County Council, each booklet contains four vouchers, valid between 26th March - 22nd April which will enable passengers to make a single journey on any of the twelve Rural Rider routes for just 50p. The launch of the promotion coincides with the first birthday of the Rural Rider. The service was introduced on the 27th March 2006 and since being introduced has provided a crucial link for villages and features a state-of-the-art, easily-accessible bus.
