East Goscote is a new village, the first in Leicestershire since Domesday. It was built in 1962 by the Jelson building firm. It does have a church, St. Hilda's but as yet, no records have been deposited with the Record Office for Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland.
The nearest cemetery is on South Croxton Lane in nearby Queniborough. It is maintained by queniborough Parish Council and access to records is by request to the Parish Clerk.
The nearest crematorium would be Leicester Crematorium, Gilroes Cemetery, Groby Road, Leicester LE3 9QG. Records can be accessed on request to Leicester City Council, Welford Place, Leicester LE1 6ZG. There is a charge.
