Carol Singing
Last years carol singing was a great success and much enjoyed by everyone. This year we will be carol singing on Tuesday 19th December from 6pm. We will meet as usual at the bottom of Church Lane with our torches and lanterns. Everyone is welcome, but we do need a few of you to stay at home so that we can sing to you! Refreshments will be provided once we complete our tour of the village at about 7pm. Any donations collected will be given to Rainbow Children’s Hospice.

Future Events
As we did earlier this year we expect to hold a family social event early in 2008. Details later.

Crime Prevention
FROSTY MORNINGS
During frosty mornings when the windscreen is covered in ice it is tempting to run the car for a few minutes while we have one more cup of tea. Thieves go out early on frosty mornings looking for vehicles left unattended with their engines running. When they find one, they simply hop in and drive it away. Harborough & Lutterworth police offer the following advice to all car owners.

"NEVER LEAVE YOUR CAR UNATTENDED WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING TO DEFROST, EVEN FOR A FEW MINUTES"

Speed Monitoring

During a four-day period in June speed monitors were placed on the A47/East Norton Junction and at the Fiddler’s Green entrance to the village. Some very high speeds were registered, but traffic generally was within the limits. As a first step the Committee has decided to work on ensuring traffic safety within the village by discussing possible road improvements with the Highways Department and applying to join the Community Speed Watch programme. We will keep you informed, but further details can be obtained from John Dyson.
