Edmondthorpe is a small gated village 17miles from Leicester, 8miles from Melton Mowbray and within 1 mile from the Rutland border, it is 6 miles from Oakham.
The village to date has 37 houses and 80 residents.
It has a Post Office and a building called “The Edmondthorpe Village Centre” incorporating a Social Club.
The first Saturday in each month has a live music event and the Centre can be hired out to various organisations on request. The EVC is a Charitable Company
There are pretty walks around the village and a must to see is the historic 13th century Church - ‘St. Michael’s and All Angels’ where you can see the lifesize Marble effigies of Sir Roger Smith and his 2 wives Jane Heron and Anna Goodman.plus 2 busts of their sons Edward and Roger (they had 22 children).
The Church is open every weekend.
