SPEED ON WHEELS, BRUNTINGTHORPE AERODROME & PROVING GROUND

Speed on Wheels is a new track-based event where visitors will have the chance to test performance and specialist cars over two miles of track and also enjoy passenger experiences in all sorts of vehicles, as well as watching experts on wheels thrill audiences. They can even participate in certain events in their own vehicles.
Events include a Rolling Road Company that will measure your own car’s horsepower, torque and turbo boost pressure; a Quarter Mile Sprint challenge on Sunday; and MK Sportcars on the Autosprint course demonstrating the capabilities of their bike-powered cars.

You can test your own car on the track and for ultimate speed thrills, book into the autosprint on the day or a quarter mile sprint to see who can go the fastest! Or try karting instead – it’s how Lewis Hamilton got started! If you prefer to enjoy a passenger experience, a host of manufacturers will have their own track for demonstration drives, plus there will be Ariel Atom passenger rides and 4 x 4 offroading rides.

For those opting for a strictly hands-off-the-wheel approach, spectator events include jaw-dropping motorbike stunt displays, wheel-changing competitions, trade stands and the Aerodrome’s own fabulous collection of Cold War jet aircraft including Hunter, Harrier, Comet, Lightning, Sea Vixen. It is also the home of the Vulcan Bomber.

Youngsters can whiz round in go-karts (4-9yrs) or try offroading (4-12yrs) or they can also enjoy the trackside entertainment including inflatable slides.

Time:9.30am - 5pm
Price: From just £12 entry, see website for details

Manga Cafe at Enderby Library

Make new friends who share your love of manga and animé at Enderby Library's Manga Cafe.

This group meets at Enderby Library from 1-2pm approximately every 4 Saturdays.

The group is a wide mix of ages and tastes, no one is too old or too young. We discuss what we're reading and watching and share food (we usually bring along a few snacks each).

We've written some reviews and shared artwork with each other too, check out the Manga Cafe page to see what we've been up to and for any future plans.
