Get to know more fans of Manga and Animé.

Manga Café is an informal, friendly group of Manga and animé fans that meets one Saturday a month at Enderby Library. Mainly we chat and eat snacks we’ve brought to share.

We’re quite a mix of ages and personalities, everyone fits in. You don’t have to commit to coming, some people come to most sessions, others just come occasionally. New people are very welcome.

When we meet

Saturday afternoons approximately every 4 weeks at 1:00-2:00.

Next meeting

At each group we decide what to do in future sessions. For example to focus on a certain anime or manga. Keep an eye out here for anything you need to know before the next meeting:

19th July

At the last session we played the drawing version of consequences and created some interesting looking characters. Each of us then took away a character with the idea of creating a backstory for them, if you have one bring it to the next meeting to share. It can be written, drawn or verbal.

Judging a book by its cover - last time we all chose a book and made a snap judgment based on its cover only. Read it before the next meeting and then share whether your judgment was right. If you weren't here last time and want to join in, just choose a book (anything you like, can be manga or not) decide what you think it'll be like just from the cover, then read it and see if you were right.

We haven’t talked about animé for a while, so let’s have a bit of an animé focus for the next session. We didn’t set an animé to watch, but we could do a rating of various animés, something similar to the cool wall. So watch lots of animé in preparation.
