» FleckneyLeicestershire Libraries Service in conjunction with Leicesteshire Heritage Services provided Fleckney Primary School with artefacts and a professional writer to carry out workshops using real museum artefacts. The work displayed on this website was produced by Pupils of Fleckney Primary School. A display of all of the work produced will be on display at Fleckney Library from Saturday 8th May. Pictured below are some of the museum objects used by pupils in to produe their creative writing work. ![]() The above item would have been used by the servants of a large house to mould the butter so that it had a decorative pattern or shape. Only those who were wealthy would have been able to afford to have such an item. ![]() These items would have been the property of a lady of quality. The Chatelaine (metal belt with items hanging from it) would have hung from the waist and held items such as scissors, thimbles, a needle case and tape measure. All invaluable items for mending and making clothing. ![]() Not every home in Fleckney would have owned a telephone. If villagers wanted to make a call they would have had to visit one of the local shops. Turn to next page to see the work of Fleckney Primary School Pupils Last Updated . |
