
Fleckney Centre/Library/Museum
The Museum is housed in Fleckney Centre also known as Fleckney Library; the building was formerly the village school. The Library is located in the centre of the village opposite the duck pond and chicane. There is on-site parking and also a public car park close by (60yds).

What is there to see in the Museum?
Exhibitions:
Exhibitions organised by the Fleckney History Group; the group creates exhibitions pertaining to the history of Fleckney. Photographs, documents and artifacts are displayed. The exhibitions are temporary and changed at regular intervals.

The Museum Computer

The Museum Computer has now been installed in Fleckney Centre, and is available for public access. The village database consists of photographs and documents relating to Fleckney Village. If you are interested in examining the database, ask a member of the Fleckney Centre staff for assistance. The system is user friendly, has a search facility, and is able to magnify documents and images.

Public Facilities:
There is full access for disabled people. A sales point where you can purchase a tapestry booklet and postcards. The Library provides public access to the INTERNET including e-mail. There are toilet facilities. There are no refreshments available in the museum, but you can get hot food at both pubs in the village. The local shops, including a CO-OP , provide sandwiches fruit and other edibles. The Post Office and the CO-OP provide cash dispensing facilities. It is approximately half a mile walking distance to Mill Field Wood. The wood was a millennium project and is open to the general public. The Fleckney side of the wood is bounded by the Grand Union Canal and Saddington Tunnel is close by. The local church, St Nicholas, is 200yds from the library.
