Mary and Kenus Wright - Bella's parents
WHY WAS BELLA WRIGHT MURDERED ON SATURDAY NIGHT, 5 JULY 1919?

On Saturday, 5 July, 1919, Bella Wright, a girl about 21years old, had finished finished writing her three letters. She then set off on her bicycle to post these three letters at the Evington Post Office.

Bella must then have returned home for a short time before setting off again from her home at Stoughton for the last time. She had cycled up the hill and past Stoughton Church. She proceeded along the road to Gaulby. Bella was going to visit her uncle, George Measures who lived in the village of Gaulby.

It was the last time her mother had seen her alive.

Bella had spent the last two years of her life working in various factories. During 1917 Bella Wright had found employment at St.Mary's Rubber Mills, Leicester. The record office have checked the records and found that only male employees were recorded there.
