» HallatonHallaton entertained Walton-Le-Wolds on Sunday 22nd June at the Recreation ground. On discovering that the Brucciani family was on tea duty, Jim Bluck managed to persuade skipper Matt Rodgers that Hallaton may be better off batting second if he won the toss thus forcing the visitors to take the field following what was sure to be a plentiful feast! The toss was duly won, the opposition was invited to bat and all but 35 overs later had amassed a very creditable 209 runs with their number 3 batsman retiring on 101 not out (Ross Porter 3 for 28, Cillian Brugha 2 for 34 and Jack Measom 2 for 33 all off 7 overs)! Unfortunately Jim’s cunning plan did not work as Hallaton wickets soon tumbled as they started their pursuit, eventually being bowled out for 115 (Cillian Brugha 40 and Ross Porter 36) to lose the game by 94 runs. on Sunday 22nd June at the Recreation ground.
