27 June was the date of the second Friday night Twenty20 of the season, (re-designated an Eighteen18 on condition of the poor light!), an intra-village affair which pitted the Top of the Village against the Bottom of the Village (teams having been selected according to an arbitrary East / West dividing line!). In rather gloomy conditions necessitating a white ball rather than the usual red one, the ‘Tops’, skippered by Nigel Clarke of North End, batted first and set a target of 113 from their 18 overs for the loss of 8 wickets (Mark Wilkinson 30, Jim Bluck 22 and Phil Allen 3 for 31 from 4 overs bowling for the ‘Bottoms’). In pursuit the ‘Bottoms’ who were skippered by Phil Armson of the Bewicke, notched up 105 for 8 wickets from their 18 overs (Pete Buckingham 34, Jake Clarkson 15 not out, Dylan Bogg 13 and bowling for the ’Tops, Charlie Jones 3 for 19 and John Royle 2 for 6 both off 3 overs) resulting in a 8 run victory for the Top of the Village
