Scarecrow Festival - Saturday 13th/Sunday 14th September 2008

In and around Hallaton – in aid of Church funds.

It will be five years since we had our fantastically successful SCARECROW FESTIVAL with over 50 imaginatively wonderful entries – so we thought that the time was ripe for another one!

There are lots of ways to join in the fun, some of these are shown below, together with the outline plan.

Help us to make 2008 a great event for everyone!

Outline plan

1. Households create a Scarecrow-broadly illustrating a “trade” – and give it a “suitable” title!
2. Scarecrows will be displayed outside properties – or on adjacent land so no need for visitors to enter your garden if you do not wish it.
3. Widely advertised.
4. “Map” sold to visitors at £1/map.
5. Competition for Best Scarecrow judged by visitors.
6. Ploughman’s lunches, teas, coffees, sandwiches available.
7. The Church will be decorated with beautiful displays of flowers.
8. Various stalls, good as new; bric – a brac; books etc.
9. Raffle

Join in the fun

Ways that you can help and be involved include:

- Making a scarecrow!

- Helping with the organisation on the day

- Donating a raffle prize, or sponsoring print costs etc.
