![]() Speed on Wheels is a new track-based event where visitors will have the chance to test performance and specialist cars over two miles of track and also enjoy passenger experiences in all sorts of vehicles, as well as watching experts on wheels thrill audiences. They can even participate in certain events in their own vehicles. You can test your own car on the track and for ultimate speed thrills, book into the autosprint on the day or a quarter mile sprint to see who can go the fastest! Or try karting instead – it’s how Lewis Hamilton got started! If you prefer to enjoy a passenger experience, a host of manufacturers will have their own track for demonstration drives, plus there will be Ariel Atom passenger rides and 4 x 4 offroading rides. For those opting for a strictly hands-off-the-wheel approach, spectator events include jaw-dropping motorbike stunt displays, wheel-changing competitions, trade stands and the Aerodrome’s own fabulous collection of Cold War jet aircraft including Hunter, Harrier, Comet, Lightning, Sea Vixen. It is also the home of the Vulcan Bomber. Youngsters can whiz round in go-karts (4-9yrs) or try offroading (4-12yrs) or they can also enjoy the trackside entertainment including inflatable slides. Time:9.30am - 5pm
