» HuncoteHUNCOTE W.I.
The W.I. in Huncote was formed in 1966 primarily to give ladies in the village an opportunity to learn new skills and develop their knowledge in an environment that offered friendship and fun! These objectives still remain today. The W.I. being a powerful movement strive for a better world with campaigns which are relevant and can affect everyone - Huncote is proud to be part of that organisation (see the NFWI, County Federation and College websites for a wider picture). Huncote join with Croft, Narborough and Littlethorpe, Glenhills and Whetstone to form the Fosseway Group and enjoy various activities within the Group throughout the year. The W.I. get together at St James' Church Rooms on the second Friday of each month at 7.30 p.m. The programme offers a good variety of subjects and a warm welcome is assured. No calendars are created and no hats are worn!! There is a touch of the "Proms" each month with a short rendition of Jerusalem but then the jam making is left to the Country Markets! Finally - where can you get a good cup of coffee and a cake for 30p? - Huncote W.I.
