Kilby Wood

The development of 12.5 acres at Kilby wood is in it's infancy, but, with an offer of a 30 year lease from Leicestershire County Council and English Woodland Grant Scheme funding being processed, the framework is in place for it's future development.

The site will be south of the village just to the west of Fleckney Road. A higher density of trees like oak and hazel will be planted in the southern wild meadow to encourage biodiversity around the stream to the south.

Features will be included for the benefit of the village such as:

• Vegetable gardens
• Pony paddock
• Orchard
• Memorial tree avenue
