Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council Planning ProposalsHinckley & Bosworth Borough Council, like Blaby District Council, are consulting their residents regarding new housing, employment, open spaces and travellers sites. The Parish Council has studied their proposals carefully as Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council’s boundary is so close to our village. The Borough Council is proposing an extended traveller site on the former private site on the Desford Road/Desford Lane (to Ratby) corner. This site is only 0.5 miles from the Kirby Muxloe village boundary. In addition, an employment site is being considered on the opposite side of Desford Lane, with access from Desford Road. The Parish Council is very concerned about the additional traffic that would need to use the Desford Road, much of which could pass through our village. Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council are also considering an additional 2,000 dwellings around Earl Shilton as well as 2,500 dwellings around Barwell. The Chairman of the Parish Council, the Clerk to the Council, as well as Councillors have already attended one of the Borough Council presentation/workshops to assess the detail of the proposals. The Parish Council, supported by David Parsons, our County Councillor, as well as our Blaby District Councillors, is totally opposed to these proposals and will object, in the strongest possible terms to them. The Parish Council have sent a letter of objection to Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council and this is available through the link below. Residents are encouraged to state their objections to these proposals to Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council and these should be received by the Borough Council by 5.00 pm on Monday 6th April 2009.
