Banking Scam - Another!

BEWARE - Telephone Surveyors Asking For Your Banking Details.

Reports have been received from local residents who have received calls asking for information about which bank they use.

Questions asked include "are you happy with your bank?"

Fortunately the people who have received these calls have been very astute and when asked for their personal bank details they have put the phone down immediately. The caller's have with-held their telephone number and some phones have shown "out of area".

The recipients of these calls have said that the callers have implied that they are bank officials undertaking surveys on behalf of Banks making the call/scam appear plausible.

Remember, if you give your card details or other confidential information to anyone who phones you out of the blue, you may be giving it to a business that is not telling you the truth - or even to a criminal who just wants to defraud you.
