St. George's Week Celebrations

The Rainbows Hospice 18+ extension fund is to be boosted by £389, as a result of enthusiastic support for the celebrations and events that took place at the Castle Hotel during St' George's Week.

The hotel and gardens were filled with red and white flags and bunting and traditional cask English ales and classic English fare were served.

Entertainment featured Warwick Castle musicians Brandy-wine Bridge, Leicestershire Folk/Rock band Black Rat, Betty Byrne as well as a colourful display by Packington Morris Men.

The disco on Friday featured a number of English Bands.

Local Historian Richard Smith talked about the history of Kirby Muxloe Castle.

It is hoped that this will become an annual event.
