Not in My Neighbourhood Week provides an excellent opportunity for Neighbourhood Watch Schemes to take advantage of the week-long national focus placed on profiling those who work hard on a daily basis to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour and make our communities safer. Weeks of action such as this also help to increase public confidence in local agencies.

We do hope that as many Neighbourhood Watch Schemes as possible are able to take part in the week which runs from 13th-17th October .

Dear Watch Members,

Please beware of the following which happened on 26th August 2008

Information from Croxton Kerrial NHW:

Around 5pm today (Tuesday, 26 August), two males entered a house in Croxton Kerrial; a neighbour observed a further male outside the property. They entered the property by telling the householder that they had been sent to 'sort out his water'. On entering they tried to push the occupant into his living room. Fortunately a neighbour heard the commotion and shouted at the men one of whom ran off and the other started being abusive to her. More »

Another neighbour opposite observed the 3rd man and saw that they were driving a mid blue Ford Focus. The 3 men have been described as being in their 20's to 30's, of skinny build and speaking with Irish accents.
Leicestershire Constabulary have been informed: ref no. 628.

If anyone saw anything suspicious or has any other relevant information, please report to the police on 0116 222 2222.

Please keep the chain on your doors, and fully ascertain any caller's identity before allowing them access. « Less
