Action Deafness offers a range of services to promote independence, equality and opportunity among these communities. The charity Leicester and County Mission for Deaf People was established in 1897. More commonly known in recent years as the Centre for Deaf People, our working title was changed to Action Deafness in June 2006. The aim of Action Deafness is not to do things for the deaf community, but to empower them to access services, employment and information themselves. We work towards an inclusive society by offering, among other things, learning, communication and interpreting services as well as advocacy and mentoring. ![]() Formerly known as Environ, Groundwork Leicester & Leicestershire is an independent charity and member of the national organisation, Groundwork UK. We provide information, advice and practical help to encourage individuals and organisations to take practical steps towards a more sustainable future. Our history began when Environ was created in 1993 by the merger of two independent charities: Leicester Ecology Trust and Leicester Environment City Trust. The origins of these organisations go back to 1983 when the City Wildlife Project was first established - so we have a long track record! We became a Groundwork Trust in April 2006 and changed our name to Groundwork Leicester & Leicestershire. Our workforce of over 40 professional staff is supplemented by committed volunteers, trainees and work placements. We pursue an ethos of partnership in all that we do, engaging with government bodies, businesses and local communities to involve everyone in action for the future. Leicester Forest Rugby Football Club was formed in 1997 by the amalgamation of two well established Leicester Clubs, Old Bosworthians, originally founded in 1955, and West Leicester R.F.C. which was founded in 1963, and was an amalgamation of Old Ricardians and the Highfields Medway Club which began playing in the 1920's. Since 1997 the club has prospered and Leicester Forest now regularly field four senior teams, a veterans team and a colts team. We have also become the home of Forest Ladies, a progressive girls side who show strength and depth and more guile than some of our male sides. We look to gain floodlights for our new pitch and an all weather training pitch, to hold county and evening games, to make Forest one of the premier clubs in Leicestershire. Off the pitch you can be assured of a warm Forest atmosphere. We have many social evenings from Children's pantomimes to Oompah bands. Forest is proud to support the local community, providing facilities to schools rugby events. We have strong links with Leicester Tigers where we have provided players to development squads - some, including Ollie Smith and Sam Vesty, have become regular members of the Tigers first team. We offer a rugby atmosphere in a modern era, combining fun and fitness. We look forward to welcoming you to our club. Leicester Forest Rugby FC Displaying results 1-25 of 37
