April is the month when the members of Loddington WI plan an evening for the committee which is kept as a surprise.
As there have been quite a few new members recently it had been decided to have an activity to help everyone to get to know each other better.In groups of three a questionnaire had to be completed moving to other groups if you could not answer all the questions in your own group.This proved quite hilarious and revealing.It was amazing the things that were found out about members. The only question that remained unanswered was " Name a member who was born in Rutland". Surprisingly not one member was born in the county though two members had given birth in Rutland.

Judith Horsefield thanked the members on behalf of the committee for providing such a useful and enjoyable activity.

During refreshments, also provided by the non-committee members, there was much talk about the splendid day the group had recently spent visiting the gardens at Highgrove. The weather had been perfect for the occasion and the gardens were delightful. It had been a most enjoyable day.

The evening concluded with a raffle in which Margaret Austin, Jill Goode and Claire Montagu all won Easter eggs. The competition was won by Jean Powell.

The next meeting will be held on May 21st at The Allerton Trust Visitor Centre at 7.30p.m. when Nick Merrett will be talking about the Tanzanian project run by Uppingham School.
