For those who knew Eileen you will be saddened to hear of her death. If you would like to attend the funeral it will be at the Baptist Church at 1pm on Tuesday 26th January.
Welcome
Welcome to the village's Baptist Church. We seek to serve the village by providing an opportunity for anyone to come and worship God and hear what He has to say to us through the Bible. We are keen to be part of the village community, participating in, and organising village events.
On this site you should find out a bit about what we do. Below are the services and events. Some of the former are a little unconventional - take cafe church for example which is a cross between a cafe (with hot drinks and cakes served at tables), church (interspersed with some songs, a very short talk and prayers) and optional activities (such as art or tabletop quizes) which you don't find in either!
Everyone is welcome to join us at any of our events. If you don't know where the church building is then that's understandable as we are hidden behind some houses opposite the Cricket Club. Just go up the shared drive between 10 and 16 Main Street. Here's this month's activities:-

Parent Church
Long Whatton New Baptist Church was reborn in 1998 a couple of years after the closure of the original church. This was only possible through the support of Barrow Upon Soar Baptist Church (see link below) which has continued to provide the required resources and funding.
Soar Valley Gospel Partnership
The SVGP is a partnership of Baptist Churches in the Soar Valley to promote the good news of Jesus by working together. It was formally launched on 22nd June 2008, although some of the churches have been working together already.
Long Whatton Baptist is part of this partnership, situated in the North of the valley. Below are links to the other partner churches in the North.
Christians Together in Long Whatton
We are very pleased to work together with other Christians in the village from All Saints,the Methodist church and from other churches. Together we plan events and support each other under the banner of Christians Together in Long Whatton. You will find links for the other churches in the village in the navigation bar to the right.
