LW News Article - December 06ReliabilityCars are a wonderful blessing, especially for a village like Long Whatton, but they aren’t half a nuisance when they go wrong. In the last few months my wife and I have had three flat tyres and we recently spent £200 to get the fan to switch off on one of them. It felt very expensive just to be able to switch something off! Fortunately there are some things more reliable than cars, and I’m thinking of the Bible in particular. I could try and prove it’s accuracy from a historical perspective but I’m no expert. It’s benefit is one of those things you can only prove to yourself by looking into it and checking it out for yourself. Better still ask the author – he’s still available to answer your questions! Paul, who wrote much of the New Testament, summed up the value of the Bible when he wrote “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realise what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17).” I hope you find it as useful as Paul and Timothy did. Andy Last Updated Mon, 28 May, 2007. |
