I came to Long Whatton in May 1951 and took a liking to the place, straight away, and I hope I never have to leave it. I like it so much that I have made arrangements to be buried in a corner of All Saints Churchyard.
From 1960, I worked as a stockman for B. S. Cawdell and Sons for 34 years. In 1975, I started writing “Nature Trail” for the Church magazine, now called the Long Whatton News. I can honestly say I have enjoyed every minute of my time in the village, in sickness and health.
