Rebuilding lives

As part of the Holocaust Memorial Events, Loughborough library began hosting an exhibition on Tuesday 25th January 2005 about the holocaust, and the lives of survivors of other persecutions.

The exhibition was designed to reflect the theme of ‘ Survivors, Liberation and Rebuilding Lives’ and a part of the exhibition is dedicated to the experience of Asians who were expelled from Uganda in the 1970s and settled in Loughborough. It includes recorded reminiscences, photographs and activities, as well as a section on India and the homelands of other people who have settled in Loughborough. This site offers viewers the opportunity to listen to and read these stories.
