» LubenhamThe Village Playing Field![]() The Childrens Playing Field was bought and equipped soon after the second world war by a group of enthusiastic young parents from the village. Much of the money used to buy the equipment had been raised from dances that had been held in the Village Hall (often known as the sweat box) during the War that had been attended by the servicemen stationed at Papillon Hall. The equipment in the Playing Field was completely replaced in 1993 again by enthusiastic young parents who raised money and obtained grants in order to complete the work. The field is popular with not only the village children but children from neighbouring villages with visitors occasionally bringing a picnic tea to enjoy after school on pleasant summer days. The Playing Field is looked after by a group of trustees. Last Updated Thu, 11 May, 2006. |
