Lubenham's Scarecrow Weekend

Next Scarecrow Weekend coming soon - September 14th & 15th 2008

Lubenham holds an annual Scarecrow weekend, many householders make Scarecrows and place them in their gardens or on their houses, there is a competition for the best Scarecrow. During the weekend there are many events taking place, stalls on the Village Green, a chariot race, music, a barbeque, vintage car and vehicle displays and tractor rides around the village. It's a great event that everyone joins in.

Scarecrows come in a variety of guises, some telling a story others with animation, while some look remarkably like their owners. The speed camera policeman scarecrow did an excellent job of slowing down the traffic on the Main Road and the schoolboy soaked passers by when they were not looking.
