Statement of Faith

I believe in one God, the Almighty, the sustainer of all things:
he is holy and righteous and His very nature is love; God is one, though He exists and has revealed Himself as three persons, God the Father, God the Son (our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ) and God the Holy Spirit.
I believe that all human beings are alienated from God due to their fallen sinful natures and their own actual sins.
I believe in Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of God, who through His life, death on the cross and glorious resurrection from the dead overcame sin and death, thus making a way back to God for sinners; all who repent and believe in Him find forgiveness of sins and a new life in Christ through the grace of God and the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit.
I believe in the blessed Holy Spirit of God who indwells all believers, sanctifying them in truth.
I believe that after His resurrection Christ ascended into heaven from where He will return to judge the living and the dead and to establish His everlasting kingdom in which only the righteous shall dwell.
I believe in the full inspiration of the Holy Bible and take the 66 books of the old and new testaments as the only authority for my faith and practice.

4.Other Christians who commit themselves to support the worship and work of the Church through prayer, attendance at public worship and Church meetings, the giving of their time and substance through the manner of their life are welcome provided they agree to accept the leadership of the elders and the authority of the Church Meeting.
5.Governance is vested in the Church Meetings which are held four times a year usually in March,June, September and December. The Church Annual General Meeting at which reports from Church Officers are received and Church offices filled will take place in November. 6. In accordance with the teaching of the New Testament Church Elders are responsible for the spiritual oversight of the Church especially the teaching and preaching ministry. The Church Elders and all serving officers should exhibit the qualities enumerate in the above teaching. Church Officers support the Elders and serve the membership of the Church acting as Secretary , Treasurer, Chairman and Minute Secretary of Church meetings. There is nothing to preclude Elders performing Church offices. Trusteeship of buildings and land of the Church is vested with the East Midlands Baptist Association who will act as Holding Trustees. Managing Trustees will be appointed by the Church to oversee the maintenance and use of the buildings, maintaining above all else sanctity of the Church for worship and the spread of the Gospel. The Elders and Church Officers together with one Church member will be named at the Annual general meeting as Managing Trustees. Church Officers are appointed for a period of one year at the AGM. Elders are appointed for two years. The names of proposed new Elders may be put forward to the existing Eldership at any time.
