Inside View of Sanctuary
Market Bosworth Free Church is situated in Barton Road, some 50 metres from the Post Office. To the rear of the Church is a cottage, known as Chapel House, which has been converted to small meeting rooms. Each Wednesday morning from 10am till noon we hold our 'Coffee Chat' when many friends meet informally to do just that. This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know each other and to share our fellowship with both locals and visitors.
The Church was originally a Baptist Chapel but became unused in the mid 1930s until the Free Church was formed. There being no Non-Conformist Churches in Market Bosworth in 1947, a group of Christians decided to form themselves into a body known as the Free Church. In 1949 they drew up a formal Constitution and became affiliated to the East Midlands Baptist Association. They then renovated the derelict Chapel and have since purchased Chapel House to the rear of the Church. An annexe to the Church has recently been built on land which was previously part of Chapel House garden. This new building is essential to our continuing children's and young peoples groups and is also available to be used by the community for meetings.
On the first Wednesday each month at 2.30pm we hold our Friends and Neighbours meetings, when we have talks, readings, songs and lots of good fellowship.
